Our Hearts Desires

Psalms 37:4   Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.

It is truly amazing to sit here and think of our lives and see God's path come together one step at a time and all the steps it took to even get where we are now.  In just a little over a month Johan, the children, and myself will be taking our 10 huge suitcases and flying on our one way tickets to Sweden!  We've always had a desire to move to Sweden but never just wanted to go unless God's hand was also upon it.   I truly believe God will put His desires in your heart!!
He has opened up doors for Johan to be a part of an amazing non-profit children's advocacy organization called Compassion International.  Johan himself has ALWAYS had a desire to work in His ministry and has always had a heart for children.  It is a perfect fit for him!  I myself will not technically be employed by them but I find myself just as excited!  If all I do is be there as support I believe that's a way for God to use me in his ministry as well.  Although I truly believe He has something in store for me over there as well.  :)
It's funny to look at our past and see the path we have taken and where it has led us today.  You could probably take a pen and trace a line from one instance to the next and see God working.  Even down to the people in our lives that we have met over the years.  One amazing example...when we moved to Colorado four years ago we had complete peace about it.  Loved our time we've had here!  It truly is a great place to live and beautiful!  We moved into an apartment at first and waited to try to find a house until we were here for a bit.  We found a house we loved.  We put a verbal offer on it (due to the timing of the day/week) and they verbally took it.  Which our realtor said in the realtor world was just as good until we could get it written up.  Needless to say someone came in with a higher offer and they ended up taking theirs.  We tried to fight it but I felt as if God was saying to me "let me shut that door".  I had previously went and looked at a house I LOVED but knew it was over our budget.  Come a few days later our realtor called and said bring Johan to look at that house on Paiute (the one I loved) cause the owner just dropped the price.  Johan walked in and loved it as well.  And the price was right where we needed it to be.  Looking back God not only had blessed us with an amazing house but with amazing neighbors.  Ones that He would use to help direct us on His path.  Our neighbor works at the Compassion headquarters here in Colorado Springs.  We had never heard of it before moving here and if you haven't either I suggest you do and while you're at it select a child to sponsor.  You will never regret it!  Anyway, over time we have become great friends with our neighbors and Johan has opened up many times to our neighbor about not totally understanding why God has him where he was at (the banking world) and really having a desire to work in the ministry.  Some time back our neighbor spoke with Johan about Compassion starting up in Sweden and how they were looking for a country director.  Needless to say from that point on God did his thing and we are headed there soon!
We are extremely excited!  Not only does Johan get to be a part of an amazing organization...we get to do it in Sweden!  I'm not going to be naive and think there won't be some tough times but I also know that God has placed this path for us and leading us to Sweden then there's gonna be more GREAT times in store then anything!!!  So excited to walk this path and thankful for the prayers and also for the people who listened to God as well allowing for this door to open for Johan at compassion!  Exciting times!!!  So.....let the journey begin!  :)
